Fall is a magical time here in Colorado. As the leaves go from green to gold, farms across the state open their fields to festivals, pumpkin patches, haunted houses, and corn mazes. What better way to experience the harvest season than by weaving through towering, colorful corridors of corn? We’ve found six of the best corn mazes in and around Denver to help make this fall as a-MAIZE-ing as possible. 😉
WHEN: September 20 – October 31
WHERE: Erie, CO
This 30-acre corn maze, with more than eight miles of trails, is only one of several exciting seasonal attractions featured in Anderson Farms’ Fall Festival. Play along with a game as you walk through the stalks or just enjoy the scenery—it’s up to you. There’s even a shorter trail made especially for young children, featuring its own interactive adventure. Visit during the day or, for the fearless, at night on weekends.
WHEN: September 15 – October 29
WHERE: Littleton, CO
On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, explore seven acres of corn at Denver Botanic Gardens’ Chatfield Farms. Bring the kids and enjoy train rides, corn hole, or the hay bale mini-maze for children under 10. Thrill-seekers can navigate the maze at night or dare to try the Dead Zone Scream Park’s haunted corn maze, instead.
WHEN: September 23 – October 31
WHERE: Boulder, CO
Cottonwood Farms’ two-acre corn maze is cut by hand instead of by tractors, resulting in a narrower path and a more intimate experience. Children and adults alike will discover an authentic harvest affair focused on the animals, crops, and machinery of a real farm. Bring home some organically grown winter squash or local honey from a nearby apiary.
WHEN: September 28 – October 31
WHERE: Thornton, CO
Voted best corn maze in Westword’s Best of Denver this year, Maize in the City offers an unforgettable autumn event. Play a unique and engaging trivia game in the 20-acre maze—you can even create your own questions in advance! Check out the petting zoo, mini-maze, and playground for the little ones. For those brave enough to venture in at night, this venue hosts the Haunted Field of Screams Halloween attractions.
WHEN: October 7 – 29
WHERE: Bennett, CO
With two corn mazes, unlimited barrel cart rides, a pumpkin patch, a bouncy castle, and more, Mile High Farms offers an array of fun fall activities. This year’s theme is “Space to Play,” harkening back to the days when kids played outside all day long, coming home only once the sun went down.
WHEN: September 30 – October 31
WHERE: Broomfield, CO
Rock Creek Farm boasts four corn mazes of varying lengths and complexity. Ranging from less than half a mile to over four miles, there’s a corn maze here for everyone. Try out one of two interactive mystery games while you wander, or embark on a spooky quest in the vampire-themed maze. Afterward, enjoy the family fun area or meet some friendly farm animals.
By day or by night, navigating a corn maze makes a fun fall activity for folks of all ages. Indulge your senses in the signs of the coming harvest and return to the roots of the season. It’s a great way to get outside and get moving, too! This autumn, we hope you’ll find delight in one of Denver’s best corn mazes.
