He graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Journalism, and he earned a Master’s Degree in Global Studies from the University of Denver. He has written five books, the latest is the award winning novel, “The Colony: A Political Tale”.

Odell Stroud, a professional singer and musician at Hipster Mama Productions, sang the National Anthem at the awards ceremony and also entertained during the evening dinner.  Odell, a spokesperson for Rocky’s Auto (Officer Odell from the TV commercials), is a former Technical Support Specialist at the University of Colorado Hospital and Service Specialist at The Children’s Hospital.
