If you’ve lived in the Denver area for any length of time, there’s a good chance that you’re acutely aware of the Stapleton community. Constructed on the site of the non-defunct Stapleton International Airport, the development has grown from a modest 2,500 residents in 2004 to more than 14,000 as of 2010. This growth is expected to continue, with an estimated 30,000 residents to call Stapleton home in the near future.
Future Growth
Located only ten minutes from downtown Denver, Stapleton is currently in a state of flux due to multiple projects underway that will bring “big box” stores, additional schools, commuter-rail station, and much more. Some of this has already been partially realized, but once everything is completed and ready for consumer consumption, you can bet that Stapleton will be one of the most sought-after communities to call home in all of Colorado. This explains why interest in the area has piqued, and we expect that interest to continue.
More Than Fifty Parks
It may seem almost inconceivable, but the fact remains that Stapleton is currently home to more than fifty parks. Some of these are rather small ventures, but there are more than enough parks of substantial size that will give joy to any resident. Take Constellation Park, for example. This area has recognized the love of the night sky for many observers, which is why it’s the perfect place for stargazing. There’s even a set of stones that form the Big Dipper. Central Park is another hotspot in the area, and if you’re looking for a great place to take your dogs off-leash, there’s a dog park in the East 29th Avenue neighborhood covering more than three acres. And, of course, no description would be complete without mentioning the nearby Bluff Lake Nature Center, where you can enjoy the environment and its variety of wildlife.
Shopping and Dining
Whenever someone is in the market for a new home, one of the first things they tend to ask themselves is, “What’s in the area?” In addition to good schools and friendly neighbors — both of which Stapleton has in abundance – you’ll find plenty of places for shopping and dining of all types. Take a look at the shops located at Northfield Stapleton, for instance. There, you will discover shopping locations like Bath & Body Works, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, Target, JCPenny, and more. Once you’ve worked up an appetite at those hotspots, grab a bite to eat at Red Lobster, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, or any one of the popular eateries in the area. Eat until you’re stuffed, then head over to Harkins Theatres 18, part of the world’s best movie theater chain, and top it all off with dessert from Cold Stone Creamery or Tipsy Cupcakes. The possibilities are endless!
Fat Biking
The name may sound funny, but for Stapleton residents looking for a new activity that will allow them to beat the snow and burn some calories, fat biking may the perfect choice. This refers to the use of mountain bikes where the tires are nearly double the width of regular mountain bike ties. This allows you to ride the bike in even the most snowy terrain. How many calories can you expect to lose? On average, you can shed 1,500 calories in an hour. If you’re interested in learning more or picking up your very own Fat Bike, you can head down to Stapleton’s Cycleton.
As you can see, the Stapleton community offers a variety of activities and fun for your entire family. What we’ve discussed here is only the tip of the iceberg. Retail stores, well-known residents, and other popular destinations are cropping up all the time, and as the population of the area grows, you can see this continuing to happen. If you’d like to know how you can be a part of this wonderful community or one that’s closely, be sure to contact The Denver 100 to discover the residence opportunities available.
